Member Appreciation Clinic

The BRAC appreciation agility clinic is a special annual event that was created to reward members for their hard work throughout the year. The club and its trials wouldn’t be possible without their help!

The clinic is a four-day two ring event, generally in September, where qualified members have the chance to train with two of the best agility trainers in the country.

In recent years we have enjoyed the instruction of all-stars like Jessica Ajoux, Perry DeWitt, Loretta Mueller, and Mary Ellen Berry.  All of these individuals bring a wealth of knowledge and experience both as Coaches and as competitors at the highest levels of competition, from AKC Nationals to the World Agility Open.

Approximately 10 participants are grouped together to work with one instructor each day (2 days). Groups are determined by general experience level to ensure that every person receives appropriate and useful instruction. One benefit of highly experienced instructors is their ability to tailor material to each team, ensuring that participants of diverse agility backgrounds can all benefit from the experience.

How Does a Member Qualify for the Appreciation Clinic?

Members accumulate points on a yearly basis (starting with work at the clinic and running that following year until the next clinic) by taking responsibility for jobs, either around club functions or at the trial execution level. See Member Appreciation System for additional details on jobs and point values. Vouchers earned at trials are an equal value to points, i.e., $3 value voucher = 3 points and can be used toward the 100 points needed.

A club member can qualify to attend the clinic in one of two ways:

(1) Earning 100 or more points-plus-vouchers (PV), plus a payment of $50;

(2) For working slots remaining after step (1), members having at least 50 but less than 100 PV can attend with a payment of points in the member’s account, plus $50, and further paying an amount of $3 for each PV below 100. Club members with at least 100 PV will have priority.

Points and vouchers are transferable within a household, members may switch dogs within one working spot - one per exercise. Clinic attendance is not open to non-club members. Club members can secure a second working slot for a second dog on the same basis as the first slot, only after all single spots have been filled.

Club members can audit all 4 days for no points/charge.
